TKD WiFi Poomsae Scoring System
Every performance.
Every judge.
One clear result.
Bring competition setup, tablet judging, score calculation and audience results together on your local network.
Designed for the judging panel
Focus on the performance. Keep scoring within reach.
The landscape judge interface gives blue and red competitors their own scoring area. Accuracy deduction buttons and undo controls support Recognised Poomsae judging. Tap a competitor’s presentation area to open that competitor’s marks window, then submit the completed marks to the server.
A dedicated window for each competitor
Blue marks stay blue. Red marks stay red.
Select presentation marks for the correct competitor in a separate, clearly labelled window. Recognised Poomsae records speed and power, rhythm and tempo, and expression of energy. Freestyle uses officials’ assessed technical and presentation totals.
Choose the format that fits your event
Recognised and Freestyle, in one workflow.
Recognised Poomsae
Individual and pair entries, with solo cutoff, blue/red side-by-side and alternating performance layouts.
Freestyle scoring
Record assessed technical skills and presentation subtotals, validate ranges and calculate the result.
Panel choices
Five- and seven-judge panels, with a three-judge local profile for suitable events.
Category setup
Age-group choices suggest the compulsory Poomsae pool. Add custom category names, age details and belt information.
One or two Poomsae
Randomise designated forms from the approved pool, or turn random selection off to choose manually.
Entries and running order
Manual entry, CSV import with an example template, court scheduling, cutoff advancement and knockout progression.
The operator’s workspace
Prepare the event. Run the court. Review the marks.
The server dashboard brings the active performance, clock, judge connections and submitted marks into one workspace. Each judge’s component marks and total are visible. Excluded high and low component marks are greyed out, so the calculation can be checked.
Run the performance
- Load the scheduled entry or blue/red pairing.
- Start, pause and stop the performance clock.
- Check the selected panel and connection indicators.
- Review marks before publishing the result.
Keep a record
- Record authorised paper marks if a judge needs a fallback.
- Correct a judge’s marks with a recorded reason.
- Apply referee-authorised final-score deductions.
- Confirm results, export CSV and save backups.
Results everyone can follow
A clear audience display, separate from the controls.
Show athlete names, country flags, the designated Poomsae, component scores, judge totals and published results on a TV or projector. The operator controls when scores become public. An optional waiting-area browser display can show the upcoming running order on another venue computer.
How everything connects
One local server. A connected judging panel.
Solid lines show the main court setup. Dashed links are optional. The OVR connection is an adapter interface; provider mapping and acceptance testing are required.
From setup to confirmed result
Six steps to run your court.
- Connect your equipment. Put the server PC and judge tablets on the same private network. Connect the audience screen to the PC if required.
- Trust and pair the tablets. Install the server certificate, verify its fingerprint, enter the one-use pairing code and approve the assigned judge positions.
- Prepare categories and entries. Select discipline, age group, format, panel and designated Poomsae. Enter competitors manually or import the example CSV format.
- Create the running order. Assign the court and stage, then load a performance. Check the athlete details and judge connections before starting.
- Collect and review marks. Judges enter their assessment. The server validates ranges, applies the selected calculation profile and displays each judge’s marks.
- Publish and confirm. Publish the scores, review any authorised corrections and confirm the result. Export results or pass confirmed results to your configured OVR adapter.
Understand the calculation
Transparent arithmetic. Decisions remain with officials.
Recognised Poomsae
Accuracy is entered out of 4.0. Presentation comprises three criteria out of 2.0 each, giving up to 6.0. The combined maximum is 10.0.
Freestyle
Qualified officials assess the technical total out of 6.0 and presentation out of 4.0. The software records these subtotals; it does not automatically judge kick difficulty or technique.
Panel calculation
For five or seven judges, one high and one low mark are excluded independently for each component. The three-judge local profile counts all marks. Each judge’s total remains visible alongside the component marks.
Final results
Under the selected profile, one or two Recognised Poomsae results are averaged. Referee deductions are applied after aggregation. Tie handling uses the discipline’s configured criteria and may require an officials’ decision or rematch.
Confirm the event’s scoring profile, compulsory pools, eligibility, precision and tie procedures with the technical delegate. The application automates calculations and records decisions; no governing-body approval is implied.
Plan your equipment
Suggested setup per court.
| Server PC | Windows 11, 64-bit; dual-core processor, 4 GB RAM and 2 GB free application storage suggested. 8 GB RAM is preferred. |
|---|---|
| Judge tablets | Android 8 or later with an updated WebView; 2 GB RAM and an 8-inch landscape screen suggested. Use compatible devices for every selected judge position. |
| Screen resolution | 1280 × 800 suggested for tablets; 1280 × 720 or higher for the server. Check the actual layout on your equipment. |
| Local network | Private WPA2/WPA3 Wi-Fi router with reliable court coverage and client isolation disabled. Wired Ethernet from the PC to the router is preferred. |
| Audience equipment | Optional TV or projector with an appropriate video connection. An optional separate PC can open the waiting-area browser display. |
| Software and power | Python 3.12 for the current server source package, compatible browsers, and chargers for all devices. Android Studio is needed only when building the APK from source. |
These are planning recommendations, not benchmarked minimum limits. Initial software downloads require internet access. Live scoring runs locally. The current package includes Android source, rather than a precompiled APK; Windows execution and physical-tablet APK compilation have not been verified here.
Keep the panel visible
Connection status at a glance.
🟢 Green
Connected and responding normally.
🟡 Yellow
Delayed or awaiting approval. Check the tablet and panel assignment.
🔴 Red
Connection lost. Restore the connection before relying on that tablet.
The server assigns tablet names such as Judge 1 and Judge 2. Devices must trust the server certificate and be approved by the operator. Certificate downloads are available on HTTPS port 9443, with a public HTTP setup service on port 9444 for first-time trust setup. Installation requires confirmation on the client device.
Why choose TKD WiFi Poomsae?
Practical tools for the whole court team.
Use familiar equipment
Bring a compatible Windows PC, Android tablets and a private router together in one local scoring setup.
Reduce repeated calculation
The server validates marks, calculates component averages and identifies the excluded marks.
Keep corrections traceable
Authorised score corrections require a reason, with audit records available for review.
Choose app or browser
The browser judge interface provides an alternative way to access the same local server.
Keep spectators informed
Publish results to a dedicated display while the operator continues managing the performance.
Work locally
Live scoring does not depend on an internet connection or a cloud service.
These are practical advantages, not independently benchmarked comparisons with every other scoring system. Check the available release against your event requirements.
Before you book
Your questions, answered.
Can it run without internet?
Yes. Live scoring uses the local network. Initial downloads and software installation need internet access.
Can judges use a web browser?
Yes. A trusted, paired and approved browser can use the judge interface as an alternative to the Android app.
Can the operator correct a mistake?
Yes. Authorised corrections can be made to judges’ marks with a recorded reason. Published marks use a controlled reopening or correction workflow.
Can it connect to our OVR?
It provides an authenticated schedule-import and confirmed-result adapter contract. Your OVR provider needs to map and test that interface; universal plug-and-play compatibility is not claimed.
Can we add children’s or colour-belt categories?
Yes. Use the custom category option for your category name, age limits, belt and details, then choose the event-approved Poomsae pool.
Is the Poomsae licence price the same as Kyorugi?
Yes. The current Poomsae price is £600 per licence, per court, with a 40% discount. Further discounts are available for multiple-court licences. Confirm licence duration, support, updates and applicable taxes with your quote.
